May Update: The Art of Waiting (Badly)
Let's start with the highlight of last month... The Rebound Rule released April 3rd and finished strong with 91,644 page reads. Releases are always a little chaotic and nerve wracking, but watching Emmerson and Ryan find their way into your hands (and hearts) has been incredible. I was feeling a little extra vulnerable with this one after pouring so much of my own lived experience into Emmerson. This one didn't start out as just a fun idea. It was an intentional deep dive int

April Update: Milestones, Chaos, and a Very Personal Release
April is here, and it’s already been a month. Before I even get into the chaos that is April, I have to say thank you. March was a huge milestone month with 697,347 page reads across all my books. That number honestly still doesn’t feel real, and I’m so grateful for every single one of you who’s picked up my stories, shared them, or recommended them. It means more than I can put into words. April decided to follow that up with a little chaos. The Teen had surgery on April Foo

March Madness, Big Page Reads, and an April Fools Plot Twist
March just started, which means basketball has taken over the Dunn household. More specifically, University of Louisville basketball, because Mr. Dunn is a huge U of L fan. March Madness season means the TV will be on, the games will be intense, and I will be hearing a lot about brackets, rankings, and referee calls whether I planned to or not. Looking ahead to next month, the biggest thing on our family calendar right now is the Teen’s minor surgery scheduled for April 1st.

January, Blackthorne, and the Great Snowpocalypse
January came in loud, cold, and determined to humble me. We don’t really do snow around here, so when it showed up anyway and decided to linger, the entire household reacted like it was the apocalypse. Everyone suddenly needed five extra blankets and hot chocolate at all times. Unless it was time to play outside. Then the tween and teen were determined that coats simply don't exist. At one point they had me standing on the front porch hollering at them "Where are your shoes!

New Year’s Eve: Cozy Plans, Big Books, and What’s Coming Next
New Year’s Eve looks a little quieter around here this year, and honestly, that feels perfect. I’ll be ringing in the new year at home with my family, staying cozy, probably in pajamas, and soaking up that in-between moment where one year exhales and the next hasn’t quite arrived yet. There’s something grounding about closing the year this way. Warm, calm, and full of gratitude. Before we step fully into what’s next, I want to share a book recommendation that absolutely deser

Holiday check in + Writing Updates
Well… the Dunn household is officially down for the count with a virus. Right on schedule for the holidays, of course. We are surviving on fluids, naps, and the quiet hope that everyone feels human again very soon. On the writing front, things are still moving forward. I am about 13 chapters away from wrapping the first draft of Blackthorne Academy: Year Two, which feels both exciting and slightly unhinged in the best way. Once that draft is finished, the next projects on dec
